THUNDER in the PINES offers Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks one last chance to beat the snow!! All classes will be charging hard to make the show as Lap leaders can pad thier winnings with a 'Lap Leader" Bonus. These sponsored bonuses go to the drivers that lead laps during the feature giving them some extra incentive to race for the front.

Don't forget Friday's "Mixer" where we invite the fans to come hangout with the drivers and crews. A bon-fire and gathering near the back straight grandstands that racers and crews have come to love. Fans are invited to come chat with everone and the drivers enjoy the chance to meet everyone.

The 16th Annual running of the WISSOTA Classic brings some great action to the speedway as it is sandwiched between two of the biggest events in the area. With Proctors Silver 1000 on Thursday and Hibbing's Labor Day Shootout on Sat-Sun. The Classic draws points chasers from all over the region for that extra kick to the national points chase.

Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stock and Midwest Modified divisions will be battling it out for the Classic title.

It's going to be a great Night of Hot Racing you won't want to miss!!!

Pit passes are $30 with entry fees of: Lates... $75  Mods ... $50 ... Supers $45 ... Midwest Mod $40.

Late Models will Race for a $1500 top prize while Mods run for $1000, Supers $800 and Midwest Mods Chase after a $600 winners Check.

After a couple of great nights of racing during the Itasca County Fair the racing is going to be hot and furious as only one points battle is Basically determined. Jake Barsness in the pure stock division has a large enough lead over second all he needs to do is show up.

The WISSOTA classes aren't as easy. Most of the races have some pretty seriously close battles for most of the top ten. These Drivers are still hungry and you can be certain they are going to show up to eat!!

Firday Night Sees another installment of the ENDURO as part of the FAIR WEEK Activities and starts at 7

Dave Wohlers

Dave was a friend to many as well as the Father of Pete Wohlers and Grandfather to Zach Wohlers. A family with deep traditon of racing from Kelly Lake, Minnesota.

They have been common faces at many area race tracks for over 30 years most often with a smile and hello to anyone in the area. Having been a part of many facets of racing over the years as Pete started in the old "Hobby Stock" division and worked through a winning Dirt career. Having a brief run in the ASA ranks on asphalt tracks.

Zach has already followed that tradition having run in the modified division and currently running in the Super Stock class. Zach will one again try to win the memorial to his grandfather tonight.

The racing starts at 7pm and the Thunder will Return to the Pines as we all pay tribute to what a Racing Family really is and the Man that started it all for them.  Join us Tonight

Rolling into town at 1 this afternoon all of Kenny's events went off without a hitch.

The ever jovial NASCAR Star held a meet and greet at the speedway that was wll attended and his personality ruled the event.

Feature winners Tom Waseleski Jr in the Late Models, Broking Tansport modified were won by Ryan Aho.

Jeff Tardy got back to his winning ways in the Tom Clusiau super stocks. Dan Ebert swept the night in the Rapids Ford Midwest Modifieds and Keith koski picked up his third win this season in the Pure Stocks.

All WISSOTA class cars can opt to remove their roofs and roof supports and run "Topless". A totally different look at the race cars and the drivers as they wheel  their machines.
